What to Expect at Your First Visit

At your initial visit we have a chance to get acquainted and determine what orthodontic treatment may be needed.  Many of your concerns can be addressed at this visit.

At this first visit you will receive a thorough, complimentary, orthodontic evaluation that includes:

  • A review of your complete dental and medical histories
  • A comprehensive exam of teeth, gums and jaws.
  • A panoramic, full mouth x-ray
  • Photographs of the teeth and face

Once Dr. J has completed your evaluation, he will address such questions as:

  • Is treatment needed?
  • Should treatment begin now or delayed for growth or tooth eruption?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • What are my payment options?

If orthodontic treatment is indicated, we will need further diagnostic records.  Dr. J feels it is important to do a detailed study of each patient's specific needs and that in-depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.  For your convenience, we can reserve time in our schedule following your exam for these diagnostic records.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

  • Completed health histories
  • Any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months (if available)
  • Your insurance card, if you have insurance

Open Communication

We believe that good orthodontic care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis and recommendations, any alternative treatments, and any symptoms present that may require further treatment.  A beautiful, confident smile comes from working together as partners.  We are thrilled to be partnering with you to create your wonderful smile!
